At the time of driving, in cases of urgency, when a driver wants to convey some message to other road users; they use Emergency vehicle lights. Mostly it is used to warn the oncoming vehicles and also to clear off the way. Some vehicles may also include a small arrow board to direct traffic.

These lights are found in emergency vehicles like ambulances, fire engines, police vehicles, or towing trucks. According to the type of, place of work and function these vehicles need emergency vehicle lights while moving and also when stationary.

These emergency vehicle lights refer to several visual warning devices, known as light bars or beacons, fitted to vehicles. In order to maximize their effectiveness they are used along with a siren.

In many jurisdictions, the use of emergency vehicle light is constrained by law only for responding to an emergency, initiating a traffic stop, bona fide training exercises, or when a specific hazard exists in the road.

Mostly moving vehicles need such emergency vehicle lights. An ambulance while taking a patient to the hospital, police vehicles while chasing criminals, or fire engines rushing to extinguish a fire breakout flashes their light along with a siren which is an advantage for signaling. In such occasions the emergency vehicle lights and sirens signal other vehicles on the road to give way to rush to their destinations.

As per the parameter of reaching their destination, parked vehicles would never need to use emergency vehicle lights because they are not in a moving. However, certain parked vehicle in an inadequately lit street can be more hazardous than a moving vehicle ignoring traffic rules. Such vehicles need to use emergency vehicle lights to save themselves and other vehicles on the road. This includes the delivery trucks, construction site vehicles, towing trucks, or at times private vehicles that have broken down unexpectedly in the middle of the road.

As the construction sites are often unlit and possibly full of large vehicles and equipments. In such situation the emergency lights vehicle helps other vehicles to avoid them through out the night. Similarly delivery trucks are parked irrespective of the place, they need to make themselves prominent by using emergency vehicle lights.

Even pedestrians and stray animals are helped by the emergency vehicle lights that these vehicles consist. At times during unexpected emergency even private vehicles might have to stop, so they must use emergency vehicle lights. It’s essential to avoid collision and also to look for help, if necessary. Some Emergency vehicle lights can be built up temporarily on the dash or deck and are available for emergencies, and ideally all vehicles must contain them.

In past few years, with the emergence of the LED Emergency Vehicle Lights the incandescent light bulb models have been obsolete. These LED lighting systems contain some features not found in the ancient style devices so they are extensively being used all around the world. One of the main reasons for extensive use of emergency vehicle light is that they are likely to be very long lasting, cost effective and are efficient.
